How does frenzy work in 8th edition

Any chance Frenzy could be changed slightly to making the frenzied unit pursue but not overrun?? Its so hard to deal with anything that has frenzy for any players of a medium skilled level upwards. Getting diverted by cheap chaff is bad enough and a necessary part of the game imo but also having to overrun??

Too much imo. I could see it working with pursuing; that way you if you want the enemy to give you their flank or runaway from you, you'd have to divert with something that you know the frenzied unit probably wont kill or even have to boost in combat so it doesnt die.

But the overruning thing is just so easy and cheap to do Perhaps only have to overrun when frenzied if you fail a LD test kind of like the test taken to not have to charge?

As a Dark Elf player who's been managing Frenzied Witches for three editions, and Superfrenzied units for a couple years If you're having problems with Frenzy -baiting you're not running enough chaff alongside your Frenzied units. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Frenzy comes with a cost - either don't take Frenzied units, deal with being baited all over the table, or take the tools to PREVENT you from being baited all over the table.

If you're a player like me - who has his Frenzy tactics so refined he hasn't taken a Superfrenzy test YET - auto overrun is the only downside to frenzy. And while I won't cry if auto-overrun was eliminated, I would think it would make Frenzied units a bit too powerful Dont get me wrong, this isnt a cry as I barely have any Frenzied units in the 4 armies that I mainly play and havent fielded any in years I tried to imagine the same game without him having to overrun and I think it wouldve at least been a challenging game.

You CAN test to restrain, after all. Or just interpose your emergency unit of harpies There were no harpies, but had there been obviously the first thing you do is magic missile them off. At one stage it was he either charged diverting ogres or get charged with everything the following turn. The only change that I would make to frenzy skill is that it should be FREE for the point cost calculation of the mini: the downside of the skill is enough to be in par with its upside.

A question and comment I have about frenzy. If I understant well, a frenzy unit and benefit from the parry rule if equiped with hand weapon and shield? In a country of over a billion people, it is critically important to make art as we understand it in an urban milieu more accessible.

Endeavours such as the India Art Fair help in accomplishing this. Along with school children and art students, it was thrilling to see a younger India represented in full force, as viewers, critics and potential collectors all came out to appreciate and be dazzled by the modern and contemporary art on display. It was also heartening to see serious Indian collectors showcasing their collections to a wider audience, both domestically and internationally.

While the business of art changes with each passing year, there is a deeper commitment from the younger generations to collect - and therefore support - new artists who create stunning works. The India Art Fair takes its social and cultural responsibility seriously and allows everyone who cares to come and stay a while. I hope in the years to come, art helps facilitate deeper dialogue with the subcontinent and the world at large. I hope art continues to explore questions around politics, culture and aesthetics.

I hope art continues to bewilder and provoke. By submitting this form, you agree to our privacy policy. Keep me signed in. Forgot Password? Login with Facebook. Interior Solutions. Modular Kitchens. The View. THE Discerning View.

Discern Looks. Beach Please! The Hunted , Aug 6, Messages: Likes Received: 49 Trophy Points: You can declare a charge on anything you want to declare a charge on. If you decide not to declare a charge, then you can opt to take a Ld test to move as normal. If you fail that Ld test then you have to charge the closest enemy. So, one way around the "probably going to fail Ld5" test is to always declare a charge against a suitable target if there are any targets within charge range.

That way you don't have to bother with the Ld test, and you don't put the power of "what gets charged" in the hands of your enemy. The other choice, as Stonecutter said, is to just look the other way.

They can't charge what they can't see! And one more choice, for turn 1, would be not to vanguard outside of your Generals Ld bubble. As Hoverboy said, this is another case for why a BSB is nice. Yep, if you are in possible range you must declare a charge. You know this because until you declare a charge you cannot roll the dice to determine how far you go, so this cannot be the limiting factor on the forced charge.

Hence you a get a Ld test to restrain, which you didnt before and b you can reroll with a BSB. Dakka 5. Member List. Recent Topics.
