You might want to try a set of those, before investing a lot in the better-grade harps. You could try the different ones and do some experimenting to see what keys work best with what you're wanting to do. I own a number of Hohner Blues harps and a Lee Oskar. I personally feel the Lee Oskar is built better. I have to agree that to start, it is best to buy a set, it's cheaper and you are covered for a number of keys.
Then you can upgrade the ones you use or add to the collection as you go. All times are GMT The time now is PM. User Name. Remember Me? Mark Forums Read. Thread Tools. Find all posts by kvalois. First time using it in a year and I still suck I picked out the sections to Piano Man by Billy Joel. Do you guys know any cool songs with harmonica in the key of C? Also joueur de guitare, when can you tell you're ready for a chromatic?
I really love the bluesy sounds of every other key. I think a C harmonica will work over G blues. Quote from: jtibbs97 on January 31, , pm. I dream of a better tomorrow where chickens can cross roads without their motives being questioned.
Most, but not all, of the Hohner Harmonica models are available in every major key. In this video, Juzzie Smith is playing the lap steel in Open E, but he's using an A harp played cross-harp.
